An Announcement and Apology (of sorts)

Disclaimer: CUS is not canceled, I was not canceled online (as far as I know), I just want to talk. Hi.

First thing, I want to apologize as it was probably pretty noticeable that I was not really active for the mini-readathon. I had started a new job, and I’m currently in the process of house hunting. Most of my CUS planning and interactions happened (in the past) during downtime at my old job as well as on the weekend. Because of the previously mentioned life changes, I was unable to participate as much as I would have liked.

You all deserve more attention and fun, and I’m planning on working on ways for the “big” readathon to reflect some of these interactions. These things will take time to put in place, but I’m doing my best to ensure that they happen. I’m attempting to find ways to automate posts cross-platform, but there are some bumps in the road with this.

For the announcements, I’m going to be making some changes to the way things post and such. As noted above, I’m trying to automate as much as I can with posting. Prior, I would create a google document and update it with the text-only version of the story. This is hard to remember to do, and I will no longer be doing this in that way. I will be scheduling blog posts under the category of “clearursht” in order to make this more automated. This isn’t to drive traffic to my blog in any way, I just want the text accessible and readable to people who may need screen readers and cannot use the graphics for this.

With the discord, I’m going to attempt to automate the story updates so that they will post when the tweets do. Either the Twitter feed will now be in that channel, or, I will manually schedule the texts. I want this to happen as seamlessly as possible so if there are any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

As for Instagram…well. I hate the Instagram application, and it’s extremely hard for me to remember to post there. I’m considering letting someone I already know and trust take over posting on the CUS Instagram, but I’m unsure if that’s the best course of action. All the programs I’ve seen don’t allow for carousels to be posted (multiple photos) and this makes it difficult to automate. I could post the photos one at a time, but that seems like it would clutter feeds. I want this to be simple, not messy or noisy!

Lastly, I’m going to take the shop down when the “readathon-season” isn’t happening. This is just to save me money (lol). If anyone needs anything from the shop, just let me know and I can open it back up for you momentarily/temporarily.

I want to thank everyone for participating and helping and being so kind. This little world and these characters Art and I created mean the world to me and I cherish this experience so much.

Thank you for your patience with me while I implement some of these changes. And again, any automation suggestions are greatly welcomed.
